OUR DENIM STORY
Denim should be the foundation of every wardrobe, supporting the pieces you style with it. Call it a trend, call it a responsible environmental choice, but vintage denim is a “thing” anyway you cut it. The Denim Club is a vintage denim company founded by an East London girl who prioritises timeless, sustainable fashion; believing a good pair of jeans will age with you. As a small business every aspect of our process is done with love, by us for you! Never the same twice every Vintage Levi’s 501 is individual in shade, telling its own unique story and showing signs of previous love. Each pair of jeans is special to us as we personally handpick each pair that makes it to our shop.
All our denim is then washed at our local laundry, supporting the community and minimising water waste. We then hand measure each pair individually to convert the vintage size tag into modern day U.K. size guide. Finally, we renew each pair, restoring them from aging, reworking, and upcycling giving them a new lease of life for you to rewear. The heart of The Denim Club is cultivated on sourcing sustainable denim that can be worn and adored for a lifetime, if you become a part of our club there will be many collections and collaborations so our members can build upon this foundation for a well-rounded wardrobe.
In a world where fast fashion is taking over and the fashion industry is one of the main offenders in polluting our planet, making up 10% of global carbon dioxide and being one of the leading culprits for plastic production and pollution globally, buying second hand or vintage is a big helping hand for our environment. We don’t only hand pick great jeans for you, but we also choose denim that needs a little extra love, reworking them into skirts, tops, and more. This minimises textile waste. With 10,000 litres of water used to make only 1 new pair of jeans, buying our vintage items minimises that substantially. On average, we use 5 litres per pair of jeans when washing all our denim before they get to you!
So as quotes by Vivienne Westwood “ buy less, choose well and make it last.”
